Bank Rakyat contributes RM144,000 to 72 schools and provides 460 computers to 55 schools in Kadamaian and Penampang

PENAMPANG: As an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), Bank Rakyat has delivered a total donation of RM144,000 to 72 schools in the Penampang and Kadamaian districts, benefiting 1,440 students from B40 families.

In addition to educational support, Bank Rakyat has also donated 460 computer sets to 55 schools in both areas.

The contributions were presented through the Bank Rakyat MADANI Community Outreach Program: Back to School at SK Piasau Kota Belud and SMK Limbanak, Penampang, today, with the ceremony officiated by the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Ewon Benedick.

During his speech, Ewon emphasized that this initiative reflects Bank Rakyat’s ongoing commitment to enhancing education and assisting students in need.

“On behalf of the students and schools receiving these contributions, I extend my gratitude to Bank Rakyat for continuing to be part of the solution to educational needs, complementing the efforts already undertaken by the Ministry of Education,” he said.

He further noted that since taking on this significant responsibility within the ministry two years ago, he has aimed to maintain existing focus while also prioritizing additional attention to Sabah and Sarawak.

“This is why I introduced the Look East Policy within the country concerning the development of entrepreneurship, cooperatives, and education,” he added.

Ewon mentioned that in the field of education, Bank Rakyat, along with other agencies under his ministry, has implemented various initiatives in Sabah and Sarawak.

“Among these is the Ehsan@KUSKOP Program, where the Bank Rakyat Foundation has allocated RM3 million to carry out initiatives in three districts with high e-Kasih registration, namely Kudat, Kota Marudu, and Kota Belud,” he said.
