KUCHING: Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Ewon Benedick, led a delegation from Bank Rakyat for a courtesy visit to the Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, at Astana, near here today.
During the visit, Tun, who has previously served as the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, was briefed on new initiatives from the ministry, including proposals for a new Cooperatives Act, developments at the Malaysian Cooperative Entrepreneurship University, and specific initiatives in Sarawak.
Bank Rakyat also updated Tun on its business expansion plans and service branch developments in Sarawak, which include corporate social responsibility programs.
The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives greatly values the insights and suggestions provided by Tun during this visit.
Also present at the meeting were the Secretary-General of KUSKOP, Dato Sri Khairul Dzaimee Daud, the Chairman of Bank Rakyat, Datuk Mohd Irwan Mohd Mubarak, and the Acting Chief Executive Officer of Bank Rakyat, Ahmad Shahril Mohd Sharif.
