PITAS: It is inconceivable that UMNO/BN has not contributed anything after more than 33 years of presence in Sabah, said Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak.
Instead, the former Chief Minister of Sabah said that the national party has played a significant role in the state during this time.
“This is the party that has safeguarded Sabah; it is this party that has ensured the rights of Sabah are guaranteed for us,” he said during a recent speech at the Gerak17 program for Pitas.
He further asserted that the advancements in education, the economy, and public infrastructure, such as hospitals, schools, and roads in Sabah, are the results of UMNO/BN’s efforts, which are part of the rights outlined in MA63.
“We may be a national party, but we have never relinquished Sabah’s rights to anyone, never!”
He added that the party itself is not at fault; rather, it is the previous leaders who failed to defend those rights.
