KOTA KINABALU: Elphege Godomon, the former head of the News and Current Affairs Bureau (NCA) at TV3 Sabah, died at the age of 53 in his family home at Kampung Kionsom Lama, Kiulu, at 5:30 am today.
The news was shared by his brother, Ben Godomon, on social media.
“It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my brother, Elphege Godomon, at approximately 5:30 AM today, December 24, 2024, at our family home in Kampung Kionsom Lama, Kilometer 2.5, Jalan Kiulu.
“We are currently making arrangements for his funeral, and further details will be provided soon. Let us all pray for his soul to be granted mercy and placed among the faithful,” he said.
Elphege had previously been receiving treatment in the hospital due to a heart attack and stroke.
He dedicated 24 years of service to the News and Current Affairs Bureau at TV3 Sabah since 1994, with his last position being the Head of the Sabah Bureau in 2018.
He was also a recipient of multiple journalism awards for his special reports in Sabah, including the Malaysian Journalism Award (HKM) MPI-Petronas and the Kinabalu Shell Press Award.
