TONGOD: A total of 74 church communities in the Tongod district have been granted RM50,000 by Kuamut assemblyman Datuk Masiung Banah in conjunction with this year’s Christmas celebrations.
This generous contribution aims to assist church congregations in conducting religious activities during Christmas, which will be observed on December 25-26.
The assistance was presented during a Christmas celebration event held at the Entilibon Hall here on Saturday.
According to Masiung, each church will receive donations ranging from RM2,000 to RM500 for smaller churches, and this support is distributed annually in the lead-up to Christmas.
In his brief speech at the event, he emphasised his commitment to engaging in any religious development programs in the area.
Masiung urged community church leaders in the Kuamut area to prioritise the aesthetic enhancement of church buildings through collaborative projects among congregants.
