In a statement, he emphasised that during the recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Sabah PH, all component chairpersons, leaders, and their delegates were present and actively engaged in the democratic election process for the new chairman.

“I am confident that all members of Sabah PH comprehend and honour the election process that took place recently,” he stated.

Nelson pointed out that this is not the first instance of Sabah PH conducting an AGM to elect a chairman, and in previous meetings, all members have respected the established procedures, including the election of the former chairman.

He highlighted the distinctive nature of Sabah PH, which allows for autonomy in determining the leadership of the Sabah PH Leadership Council.

“This is why I am assured that there has been no interference from any central PH leader regarding the decisions made during the recent Sabah PH General Meeting,” he remarked.

He further explained that the position of Sabah PH Chairman, or the Chairman of the Leadership Council for any state within PH in Malaysia, is not designated for any specific component party.
