Ewon wants YBR to provide additional funding for entrepreneurship courses in INSKEN in Sabah and Sarawak

PENAMPANG: Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Ewon Benedick, has called on the Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR) to continue offering supplementary funds to cover the fees for entrepreneurs participating in courses organized by the National Entrepreneurship Institute (INSKEN) in Sabah and Sarawak next year.

He noted that this year, YBR allocated RM300,000 for this purpose, benefiting 1,200 entrepreneurs across both states.

“I hope that Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM), particularly in Sabah, can engage in discussions with INSKEN to allow AIM members in Sabah to participate in training and guidance from INSKEN, in addition to the existing support provided by AIM.

He said this in his speech when officiating the AIM Family Day Celebration at the Gawir Hall in Kg. Madsiang on Sunday.

Ewon expressed confidence that the small businesses run by AIM members in Sabah will continue to thrive, just like other entrepreneurs.

“I am incredibly proud to witness the achievements of many AIM entrepreneurs nationwide, who started with small ventures and have now become successful business owners, transitioning to medium-sized enterprises.

“Success often begins with inspiration, and if that success can inspire others, it is not impossible for AIM members in Blok Donggongon, currently operating on a small scale, to grow into large enterprises in the future.

“However, this requires discipline and collaboration from all parties, including ministry agencies and AIM, in line with AIM’s pledge to support one another,” he stated.

Ewon also urged AIM members to repay their loans according to the established schedule.

“Among all the financing agencies regulated by the government, AIM stands out as the best in terms of loan repayment.

“I hope that AIM Sabah can also achieve a 100 percent repayment rate.” he added.
