KOTA KINABALU: Former Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the 16th state election, Sani Miasin, has officially joined the Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) led by Datuk Peter Anthony.

Sani’s entry into the local party was confirmed by KDM Secretary-General Gundohing Willie Jude when contacted today.

Willie said that KDM maintains an open-door policy for any individual or leader wishing to fight alongside the party.

He also confirmed Sani’s appointment as the Sipitang KDM Chief, effective immediately.

Willie expressed hope that more leaders at all levels would join KDM, thereby enhancing the party’s solidarity and political strength, especially in preparation for the upcoming 17th state election.

In the 16th state election, Sani, who contested under the BN banner, received 4,991 votes, narrowly losing to the then Warisan candidate Datuk Dr. Yusof Yacob, who garnered 5,415 votes.
