KOTA KINABALU: The Inanam Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) division is urging the government to accelerate the process of upgrading the road connecting Kg Mangkaladom to Kg Ruminding, which spans 8 KM in the Inanam area.
Inanam KDM chief Datuk George Guntarik said that it is high time for the government to address the concerns of the people after 61 years of Sabah’s independence.
He pointed out that the Federal Government has allocated a substantial budget of over RM6.6 billion for development projects in Sabah next year, while the Sabah government has proposed a budget exceeding RM6.2 billion for 2025.
“Given the significant federal budget for Sabah and the state budget for the coming year, there is no reason why the government cannot allocate some funds for the upgrading of the Mangkaladom-Ruminding road.
“It remains unclear whether previous representatives of Inanam have formally requested or appealed for the road’s improvement, but KDM Inanam views this issue as a priority that requires immediate attention, he said in a statement today.
He said that the KDM Inanam leadership made this appeal after receiving complaints from several residents of Kg. Ruminding recently.
George noted that over 200 residents in the area are hopeful for improvements, which would significantly enhance their quality of life in the future.
He highlighted that the current condition of the Mangkaladom-Ruminding road is severely deteriorated, especially during the rainy season.
