KOTA KINABALU: The suggestion made by former Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak for all original Sabahans to re-register their MyKad under the management of the Sabah government has received widespread backing.
Today, the Sabah TikTokers Media Association welcomed this innovative idea, describing it as a brilliant and forward-thinking approach that deserves advocacy.
Its president, Pak Aziz Bilin, noted that various methods and strategies have been implemented to address the issues surrounding the IC project, the use of sworn declaration documents, and the influx of foreign migrants in Sabah, yet these problems persist.
“Therefore, there is no harm in trying a new approach with this out-of-the-box idea of re-registering MyKad managed by the Sabah government itself.
“This is why the members of the Sabah TikTokers Association fully support Salleh’s proposal. We believe that the people of Sabah are more suited to understand the culture and origins of the residents in the state,” he stated, emphasising that the population of Sabah has now reached nearly four million.
Pak Aziz expressed that many residents are concerned about the rapid increase in the population of Sabah, which they believe could jeopardise the interests of local citizens in the future.
