KDM pledges to revive the distribution of Amanah Saham dividends—Peter Anthony

KOTA BELUD: The Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) is resolute in its plan to revive the distribution of Amanah Saham if the party secures a victory in the upcoming state election (PRN).

KDM President Datuk Peter Anthony emphasised that this promise is a key element of one of the two new manifestos being presented for the state election anticipated next year.

He said that approximately 3.4 million Sabahans will be eligible to receive the Amanah Saham under this initiative.

Historically, the distribution of Amanah Saham Certificates and a cash dividend of RM50 was first announced by the former Chief Minister of Sabah, Tun Datu Mustapha bin Datu Harun, in 1971, with Yayasan Sabah managing the distribution of these dividends.

Peter expressed his belief that with effective governance, Yayasan Sabah could potentially provide dividends exceeding RM100 to each qualified Sabahan.

Additionally, he unveiled a manifesto focused on enhancing land management in Sabah, which includes exploring options to allocate land to residents without ownership and accelerating the approval process for land applications and the gazetting of village land.

Peter made these remarks during the launch of the Kadamaian election machinery on Sunday.

Previously, he had introduced three manifestos addressing education scholarships, monthly support for the elderly, and housing solutions for the underprivileged.

He also clarified the monthly assistance plan for the elderly, promising a monthly allowance of RM500 if they succeed in forming the government in the upcoming state election.

Furthermore, he highlighted various issues impacting the community, including the ongoing water supply challenges that he believes the state government has inadequately addressed.
