KOTA KINABALU: In keeping with its goals to improve the electrical supply service system for the residents of Sabah and Labuan, Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) has changed its name to Sabah Electricity.
Its recognisable three-pin plug logo was altered to represent Mount Kinabalu in green and blue as part of the rebranding, and its tagline was changed to “Energising Our Future.”.
Additionally, the company relocated its customer service counter to the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) building in Sadong Jaya.
Its careline was also modified to 15444.
The rebranding, according to Sabah Electricity chairman Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau, represents the company’s dedication to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), particularly in supporting Malaysia’s objective of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050, given that the country’s energy sector accounts for the largest portion of its overall greenhouse gas emissions.
Since the previous office building near the Karamunsing shopping complex was declared unsafe by authorities last Monday, Madius said the move of their customer service counter was made in accordance with the company’s prioritisation of welfare and safety.
This move will provide a more modern, comfortable, and happy environment for both their employees and customers.
As their calls will now be routed straight to the customer service centre rather than Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) during peak hours, he said, the change to their careline number is an expression of their commitment to offering the public more effective and responsive service.
They hope that this will make it simpler for their customers to voice any issues or grievances.
