KOTA KINABALU The year 2024 will always represent a significant milestone for Malaysia and Romania.
It marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In conjuction with the anniversary, the Ambassador of Romania to Malaysia and Brunei, Mrs. Nineta Barbulescu, was given the honour to launch the Romania Garden next to ITCC in Penampang, Sabah (East Malaysia) recently.
Special Advisor to Sabah Chief Minister and Invest Sabah chairman, Tan Sri Anifah Aman, ITCC owner Datuk Seri Panglima Clarence Bongkos Malakun, who is also the Honorary Consul of Romania in Sabah, and his wife Datin Seri Panglima Sylvia Wong Malakun were present at the function.
Also present were the ambassador’s husband, Dan Barbulescu and other VIPs.
The honorary consulate of Romania in Sabah was set up in 2013.
