KDM President Files RM100 Million Lawsuit Against Political Activist

Peter announced that the defamation lawsuit was filed by his attorney against Datuk Zulkarnain Mahdar, who is also the Chairman of the Malaysian People’s Power Movement (G57), earlier this week.

“We have sent a defamation suit amounting to RM100 million against him, and it has been officially filed. This action follows a TikTok post that has tarnished my position and damaged my reputation.

“As the President of KDM, the President of the Kadazan Dusun Murut Organisation (KDM), a Member of the Sabah State Assembly (ADUN), and the President of the Sabah Football Association Tenom, I find this necessary,” he said during a press conference at the KDM office on Wednesday.

He further explained that in the video clip shared on the platform, Zulkarnain falsely portrayed him as unfit for a ministerial position, alleging that he is a class A contractor involved in corruption issues.

“It is well known that as an elected representative intending to contest, one must resign from all positions related to stakeholders or any interests involving agencies and the government.

“I have resigned from all my business roles since 2017, which can be verified through the records of the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) in the Registry of Societies Malaysia (RoS) or SSM, clearly indicating that these allegations are unfounded,” he emphasised.

He asserted that such statements depict him as dishonest and insincere, in addition to suggesting that he engages in unethical practices.
