In what is considered a moral booster, Sabah BN chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin launched the People’s Networking Election Machinery (JR) for Tenom, marking the first JR in Sabah ahead of the 17th State Election.

This launch signals the need to get ready for the election, which is approaching quickly, and the JR will be implemented in all parliamentary areas across the state.

Bung hopes that the JR, along with the support of the UMNO/BN Youth Movement and Puteri UMNO in each constituency, will strengthen the program as a key platform for the party in the upcoming general election.

He highlighted the crucial role of each JR member, as they know the voters’ backgrounds in their areas.

“They must also stay informed about current issues and communicate them to the voters they represent,” he said in his speech during the launch of the JR here.

Also present at the event were Sabah BN Secretary Datuk Jafry Arifin, Sabah BN Treasurer Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak, Tenom Umno Division Chief Datuk Raimee Unggi, Sabah Umno/BN Women Chief Senator Datuk Noraini Idiris, and Tenom Umno/BN Women Chief Datuk Rahmahjan Sulaiman Khan.

In response to Tenom Umno Women’s request to nominate three or four female candidates for the 17th State Election, including in Kemabong, Bung said he would not make any promises.

However, he mentioned that if there are female candidates with majority support and a good chance of winning, more could be considered.

“UMNO/BN will not impose candidates on the people but will select those whom the community prefers and believes can win,” he added.

Bung, who leads Sabah Umno, reminded the party members that regardless of who is chosen as the BN candidate for the upcoming election, teamwork is essential.

He pointed out that without strong collaboration among leaders and party members, along with avoiding any internal conflicts, it would be challenging for BN to succeed in the upcoming election.

“If we (BN) want to win, we must work together and act like winners. Success will only come through unity,” he said.
