UMNO must move forward smartly to grow and expand – Salleh

KOTA KINABALU: With the UMNO General Assembly coming up on August 23-24, former UMNO treasurer Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak believes the current atmosphere shows strong determination and ambition.

He noted that the recent victory in the Nenggiri by-election highlights the loyalty and commitment of party members.

“The party is clearly moving forward, reconnecting with its core supporters and lifting morale,” he shared on Facebook.

However, the Ususkan assemblyman emphasised the importance of looking ahead rather than just celebrating past successes.

The former Chief Minister of Sabah pointed out that UMNO’s journey should focus on not only maintaining its current status but also reaching out to young voters, who represent the future

He stressed the need to engage with the youth, listen to their needs, and ensure their voices are included in policies

“This assembly should be used to create strategies and unite with a fresh sense of determination. Keep working towards a stronger, more inclusive UMNO, rooted in principles while seizing new opportunities,” he added.
