KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Lands and Surveys Department proudly has recently unveiled their latest innovation, “SMART Geo Sabah,” that integrates Generative AI with advanced geospatial technologies to allow users to find and locate land information through conversational interactions in either Malay, English, or Chinese.
This makes Sabah the first state government in Malaysia to harness such advanced technology, setting a new standard for digital innovation in public services.
In a soft launch ceremony graced by the Chief Minister of Sabah, Malaysia, Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Noor. With SMART Geo Sabah, the goal is to consolidate all land information, intelligence, and insights into a single, accessible platform.
The integration of Generative AI with geospatial technology in SMART Geo Sabah is a groundbreaking achievement.
This initiative is designed to simplify the process for everyone—whether it’s the government agencies, businesses, or people in the street—to find and utilise the data they need more efficiently.
SMART Geo Sabah is poised to become an indispensable tool that bridges the gap between technology and land management, fostering a more connected and informed community in Sabah.
The development of SMART Geo Sabah is a testament to the Sabah Lands and Surveys Department’s commitment to innovation and excellence.
The beta version of SMART Geo Sabah is currently available within the department for pre-release testing and fine-tuning.
The final release of SMART Geo Sabah for the general public is planned for mid-2025.
