KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah People’s Justice Party (PKR) requests all parties to be open-minded towards the decision of the Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN), inviting the PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to attend the Sabah BN Convention in Sandakan on July 21.
The Deputy PKR Information Chief, Razeef Rakimin, said that this is part of the cooperation among the political parties that form the Federal Unity government, and therefore, they respect the invitation.
He said that the views of the NGO, urging the Prime Minister not to attend, are still respected by Sabah PKR.
“We respect the views of the G57 to maintain the GRS-PPH agreement, but as a partner of the federal government.
“GRS also needs to be open-minded for the sake of the state and country under the leadership of the Chief Minister and Prime Minister, respectively, he said in a statement today.
Razeef was asked to comment on the statement by the Chairman of the Malaysian People’s Power Movement (G57), Datuk Zulkarnain Mahdar, on Wednesday.
Earlier, Zulkarnain, requested the consideration of the PMX cum President of PKR not to attend the Sabah BN programme scheduled for July 21 at the SMJK Tiong Hua Sandakan Hall.
According to the Chairman of G57, this consideration aims to maintain harmony between the GRS and PH in forming the Sabah state government at this time.
He said that BN, together with WARISAN and PKDM, are opposition parties in Sabah, and the gathering is also seen as an effort to divide the unity between GRS and PH in Sabah.
