Its leader, Dr. Mohamad Akmal Saleh, said that the UMNO Youth machinery will work hard to regain these six seats.

“This is because these six parliamentary seats involving Kuala Kangsar, Gua Musang, Jeli, Bukit Gantang, Tanjung Karang, and Labuan were traditionally UMNO party seats.

“And of course, the UMNO Youth Movement will maintain that these seats cannot be replaced, and UMNO, together with the Barisan Nasional, must contest in these six seats if there is a by-election,” he said at a press conference after officiating the UMNO Labuan Division Women, Youth, and Puteri Conference here today.

He said that the UMNO Youth Movement has already made a firm resolution to be raised at the UMNO Supreme Council Meeting (MKT) as a sign of support for the voices of UMNO members at the grassroots level who want these seats from UMNO candidates.

However, all of this depends on the decision to be made by the Court and also by the Parliament as to whether there is a need to vacate these parliamentary seats, he added.
