KOTA KINABALU: Former federal minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak emphasised the significance of political stability in bolstering foreign investors’ confidence in the nation, consequently impacting the foreign exchange rate of our local currency.
He highlighted that continuous remarks by the opposition to foreign media about their plans to overthrow or alter the existing government will undoubtedly create a negative perception of the country.
“This negative perception will inevitably erode foreign investors’ confidence and discourage foreign investments in the country,” he said in his latest Facebook post.
Therefore, the former Sabah chief minister asserted that the opposition must also bear responsibility for the depreciation of our ringgit and the current economic situation.
He urged them to refrain from utilising foreign media to undermine political stability, sabotage the economy, and then shift the blame entirely onto the current government.
