KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Umno liaison committee chairman Datuk Bung Moktar Radin has responded to PKR’s Hassan Karim’s call for a change in Umno’s leadership, asserting that PKR is not a strong party either.
He told FMT that PKR could only form the government with the assistance of other parties.
Bung emphasized that Umno knows how to manage itself and understands its own strengths and weaknesses.
He pointed out that if PKR was a strong party, it would have won the last general election without needing the support of other parties.
Bung also said that Hassan, being from a different party, has no right to interfere in Umno’s affairs as he is not a member.
Bung said that Umno has a system in place, and its president, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, was chosen by Umno members.
Bung advised Hassan to join Umno if he wants to comment on its matters.
While acknowledging Hassan’s right to free speech, Bung urged him to use common sense before making such remarks and not harm his own cause.
