PENAMPANG: The Wanita chief of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah, Datuk Redonah Bahanda, is confident that the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will continue to receive support from the people in the upcoming state election (PRN).
Despite the change in the ruling party, she believes that the people recognise GRS as the best party for the future and welfare of the people.
“With our wealth of experience, we are confident in our ability to attract voters and lead them under the GRS party.
“Our leader, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Haji Noor, established a party that is rooted in the struggles of Sabah. This enables us to effectively fight for our rights here.
These remarks were made by Redonah at the GRS Women’s Movement tour series event in Moyog division, Penampang, on Friday.
The event was attended by various GRS leaders, including Moyog wanita GRS chief, Viola Dompok; assistant secretary, Floriska Francis; assistant treasurer, Betty Jamit; and information chief, Brinda Aaron.
According to Redonah, women voters, particularly in the Moyog state constituency, have no issues staying with GRS and supporting the implemented policies.
The establishment of GRS aims to utilise existing powers to restore Sabah’s rights, as outlined in previous agreements.
“Previously, many of our rights were denied, but now Hajiji aims to bring Sabah back to the concept of Sabah Maju Jaya, which embodies the spirit we need.
“However, there are still many challenges that the state government leadership needs to address, such as providing basic road facilities and a clean water supply,” she added.
