KOTA KINABALU: Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik once again proved to be the saviors for Malaysia in the doubles category.
The former world champions displayed an impressive performance at the Indian Open, securing a spot in the semi-finals.
They triumphed over China’s Liu Yuchen-Ou Xuanyi with a remarkable 21-19, 21-19 victory in the quarter-finals, much to the delight of the home fans at the K.D. Jadhav Indoor Hall in New Delhi.
This marks the third win for Aaron-Wooi Yik out of their last seven encounters against the eighth-seeded Chinese pair.
Their next challenge will be against the winners of the match between India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty and Denmark’s Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen, as they vie for a place in the final.
