Anwar to attend ground-breaking ceremony for the RM4 billion Ulu Padas Hydroelectric Dam project on Thursday

KOTA KINABAU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to attend the ground-breaking ceremony of the proposed RM4 billion Ulu Padas Hydroelectric Dam project in conjunction with a one-day working visit to Sabah on Thursday.

The groundbreaking for the dam project will be held at Kampung Kungkular, Kemabong, in Tenom.

After the programme in Tenom, the Prime Minister will return to the state capital to deliver an address at the 2023 National Level Hawkers and Small Traders Day Carnival (HPPK), which will take place at Buhavan Square, Donggongon, Penampang.

The carnival, organised by the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), brings together hawkers and small traders from all over the country.

According to a statement issued by KUSKOP on Monday, Anwar is also scheduled to present the certificate of appointment of the Hawkers and Small Traders Consultation Council as well as the 2023 Hawkers and Small Traders Excellence Award before visiting the exhibition.

Subsequently, the Prime Minister is expected to resume his working visit to the Federal Territory of Labuan, arriving on the duty-free island at 4 p.m. on the same day.
