KOTA KINABALU: The numerous reports of child abuse and neglect in recent years raise serious concerns.
According to Dato’ Sri Nancy Shukri, Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development, her ministry takes the frequency of such cases seriously and is committed to assisting in the protection of children’s best interests.
As a result, she suggested holding informational sessions to make sure kids are aware of their rights.
Nancy also stated that parents and the community need to be educated about what could and could not be done to children.
Nancy said this in her speech at the launch of the Sabah State Children’s Advocacy Programme at SK Malawa, near here, today.
She said the advocacy programme, among other things, aims to mobilise every member of the community, including parents, PIBG, teachers, and the local community, including schoolchildren.
