KOTA KINABALU: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Supreme Council has instructed all party divisions in the state to streamline their party’s machinery for the upcoming state elections.
Gagasan Rakyat Information chief Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan said this was among the decisions made at the party’s supreme council meeting chaired by party president, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor here today.
Nizam said the Gagasan Rakyat had expressed its full support for the unity government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah supports all efforts of the GRS Plus Sabah Unity Government to address issues inherited from the previous government such as water supply, electricity, roads and other needs for the welfare of the people and better development of Sabah,” he said in a statement.
Nizam said the party also expressed support for the GRS Plus Sabah Unity Government’s continued efforts to fight for the rights of its people and the State of Sabah enshrined in the 1963 Malaysian Agreement and the Federal Constitution.
“Members of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah Supreme Council have also noted the positive reaction of the people of Sabah to joining and applying for membership in the party,” he added.
