This was Ewon’s first visit to the ministry’s agency office in the state’s rural areas after leading the ministry earlier this month.

During his short visit, Ewon was informed with various problems faced by the night market traders which require the government’s attention.

Also present during the visit were Political Secretary Carl Moosom, Telupid District Officer Celestine Jitony, Beluran and Telupid TEKUN Nasional Manager Ronnie Anthony, and Administrative Assistant District Officer Mohd Nazrul Omar.

“In line with the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s recent mandate which the Government vowed to help the hawkers and small traders, I will do a follow-up after my brief visit today regarding the need to upgrade the facilities of the hawkers and small traders here,” he said.

Ewon said he is also working on the allocations to upgrade the district’s Weekly Tamu site and upgrade the General Night Market building.

During the visit at the TEKUN Nasional office, Ewon was informed that the office needs at least two additional officers to manage TEKUN entrepreneurs in the Telupid and Tongod districts.

“I will inform this matter to the top management of TEKUN Nasional so that the service member in the Telupid, Tongod and Beluran branches can be empowered.

“At the same time, I hope that the people in these districts continue to engage in entrepreneurship and small businesses through the funding support from TEKUN Nasional,” he said.
