KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Backbencher Chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak concurred with the views of Umno Sabah under the leadership of Dato Sri Bung Moktar Radin relating to the latest political developments in the Federal Government.
He opined that the present government should protect GRS and the mandate from Sabahans to become a responsible government.
“I share the views set out in the UMNO Sabah’s Press Statement under the leadership of YB Dato Sri Bung Moktar relating to the latest political developments in the Federal Government.
“In my view, we should protect GRS and mandate from Sabahans to become a responsible government.
“To avoid any doubts, we must strengthen GRS as the official entity for Sabah, just like GPS is for Sarawak,” said the former Sabah Chief Minister in his latest Facebook posting.
Salleh, who is also state assemblyman for Usukan said the state government’s focus now is to speed up the vaccination process and overcome the problems caused by the spread of COVID-19 in Sabah.
Yesterday, UMNO Sabah reiterated that it will support the GRS government under the leadership of Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor following the turbulent political situation in West Malaysia.
In a statement, UMNO Sabah hoped that this stance will be respected by all parties for the sake of stability, harmony and prosperity of the people and the loved State of Sabah.
