{"id":9771,"date":"2022-01-27T19:55:02","date_gmt":"2022-01-27T11:55:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/?p=9771"},"modified":"2022-01-27T19:55:02","modified_gmt":"2022-01-27T11:55:02","slug":"medical-equipment-to-strengthen-child-health-services-in-tawau-lahad-datu-sandakan-keningau-and-kota-kinabalu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/2022\/01\/27\/medical-equipment-to-strengthen-child-health-services-in-tawau-lahad-datu-sandakan-keningau-and-kota-kinabalu\/","title":{"rendered":"Medical equipment to strengthen child health services in Tawau, Lahad Datu, Sandakan, Keningau and Kota Kinabalu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KOTA KINABALU: UNICEF Malaysia earlier this week delivered medical equipment valued at RM627,948 to Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&#038;G) wards across five hospitals in Sabah, including hard to reach areas.<br \/>\nUNICEF Malaysia has been working tirelessly since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic to reduce the impact of the virus on children including strengthening health facilities across Malaysia.<br \/>\nThe aid that was handed over to Tawau Hospital, Lahad Datu Hospital, Keningau Hospital, Duchess of Kent Hospital, and the Sabah Women and Children Hospital in Likas was planned and coordinated together with the Medical Development Division of Ministry of Health Malaysia and the Sabah State Health Department.<br \/>\n\u201cWe hope the medical equipment delivered will complement efforts by the Ministry of Health to provide adequate medical care for children and mothers in Malaysia. Together with the government, UNICEF works for every child in Malaysia, from Perlis to Sabah, of all ethnic groups and races, citizens and non-citizens, migrants and undocumented, and the most marginalized children found in all these groups \u2013 children with disabilities,\u201d Dr Rashed Mustafa Sarwar, UNICEF Representative to Malaysia and Special Representative to Brunei Darussalam said.<br \/>\nIn addition to the five hospitals in Sabah, UNICEF will also deliver medical equipment to O&#038;G wards in Hospital Ampang and Hospital Serdang, in the Klang Valley valued at RM377,624.<br \/>\nLast year, UNICEF Malaysia launched a COVID-19 emergency appeal in July 2021 to respond to the urgent needs of some hospitals in Malaysia, including delivering 400 oxygen concentrators and other life-saving equipment worth RM1.2 million to several hospitals in the Klang Valley.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KOTA KINABALU: UNICEF Malaysia earlier this week delivered medical equipment valued at RM627,948 to Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&#038;G) wards across five hospitals in Sabah, including hard to reach areas.
