{"id":7646,"date":"2021-11-02T16:30:21","date_gmt":"2021-11-02T08:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/?p=7646"},"modified":"2021-11-02T16:30:21","modified_gmt":"2021-11-02T08:30:21","slug":"state-jkr-to-handle-all-projects-to-upgrade-dilapidated-schools-in-sabah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/2021\/11\/02\/state-jkr-to-handle-all-projects-to-upgrade-dilapidated-schools-in-sabah\/","title":{"rendered":"State JKR to handle all projects to upgrade dilapidated schools in Sabah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR: The projects to upgrade dilapidated schools in Sabah will only be undertaken by the Sabah Public Works Department (JKR), the Dewan Rakyat was told today.<br \/>\nDeputy Education Minister II Datuk Mohamad Alamin said this was due to the limited capacity and technical expertise of the Sabah State Education Department (JPN) and the District Education Offices (PPD).<br \/>\n&#8220;Currently, the number of technical posts in JPN and PPD does not meet the requirements of the main engineering disciplines like civil and structural engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, architecture and surveying tools,&#8221; he said during the question-and-answer\u00a0time.<br \/>\nHe was replying to a question from\u00a0Ma\u2019mun Sulaiman (Warisan-Kalabakan) who wanted to know whether approval could be given to JPN and hence the Tawau District JPN to undertake such projects in the Kalabakan parliamentary constituency.<br \/>\nAlamin said that according to\u00a0Treasury Directive 182 (AP182), ministries\u00a0or non-technical departments must obtain services from a\u00a0technical department to\u00a0implement all work projects\u00a0subject to the regulations in force from time to time.<br \/>\n&#8220;If the ministry or department wants to implement the work project by itself,\u00a0special approval for AP182 exemption from the director-general of the relevanReplying to supplementary question from\u00a0Ma\u2019mun\u00a0on the delay in implementation of the projects, Alamin said firstly, there were several factors that contributed to the delay, including the\u00a0COVID-19 pandemic.<br \/>\n\u201cThe second is about the land site.
