\n\u201cAll parties should temporarily put aside their political interests and support the government\u2019s readiness to forge inter-party understanding and cooperation. This is imperative to stabilise the current political crisis for the sake of the people\u2019s well-being.

\n\u201cApart from that, replacing the government at this time does not guarantee the end of Covid-19 crisis, therefore it is better for all parties to be in the same team and work together for the people\u2019s interests. \u00a0

\n\u201cThis \u2018political truce\u2019 is not a mere rhetoric to enable the current government to remain in power because whether we like it or not, general election will be held by July 2022, as promised. That will be the time for the politicians to continue with their agendas, but now it is time to focus on the people.

\n\u201cAlmost all political leaders have been shouting that their struggles are for the people. If so, they should take this opportunity to form bipartisan cooperation,\u201d he said in a statement here today.

\nAccording to Steve, this nation\u2019s first bipartisan cooperation would allow all parties from both sides to sit together and consolidate their resources and ideas to bring Malaysia out of this Covid-19 crisis.

\nHe said that the government\u2019s willingness to work together with the opposition for the sake of the people is the best opportunity for all parties to convey the people\u2019s aspirations that might not reach the government\u2019s ears.

\nThis, he said, would lead to a more stable political climate in the country which is important to ensure success in the nation\u2019s recovery effort.
