LAHAD DATU:\u00a0 Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam, visited the Palm Oil Industrial Cluster (POIC) here Saturday to expedite the road improvement works which was scheduled to commence this year.<\/p>\n
The Industrial Development Minister (MID) was accompanied by POIC Sabah Chairman, Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee, and Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Fredian Gan, Permenant Secretary , Thomas Logijin as well as a team of officers from MID, Finance Ministry and State Economic Planning Unit (EPU).<\/p>\n
The POIC Lahad Datu is positioned as an emerging Logistics Hub for Sabah and east BIMP-EAGA (Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines – East ASEAN Growth Area).<\/p>\n
All major infrastructure are in place and all it needs is a strong Government support to enable investments to flow in.<\/p>\n
Dr Joachim reiterated the State Government\u2019s strong commitment to realising Sabah\u2019s industrialisation agenda through emphasis on high value industries.<\/p>\n
It was Dr Joachim\u2019s second official visit to POIC Lahad Datu within the last three months.<\/p>\n
