PETALING JAYA,: The government will announce either tomorrow or Tuesday a more comprehensive form of assistance for various groups in the country who are affected by Phase One of Movement Control under the National Recovery Plan to curb the spread of COVID-19.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he would announce the\u00a0details of the assistance, including for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
\nHe said the government is\u00a0always working to ensure that the 12 million people\u00a0or households in the country who are affected\u00a0are given\u00a0appropriate assistance and support to\u00a0cope\u00a0with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
\n“We are aware everyone is waiting to see how the government\u00a0is going to help those affected\u00a0during this phase (of National Recovery Plan) and subsequent phases until the end of the year.\u00a0Of course, there will be assistance for\u00a0B40, M40 and loan moratorium for the T20\u00a0(eligible) group.
\n\u201cWe have taken account of the need of all\u00a0these groups\u00a0more comprehensively than before. I will announce the\u00a0details\u00a0tomorrow or the day after, so that everyone knows where we stand. But what\u2019s\u00a0important is that\u00a0support is given to all\u00a0groups in society.\u00a0There may be an increase in the\u00a0form of assistance to be extended,” he told reporters after visiting\u00a0the vaccination centre at the Sunway Pyramid Convention here today.
