KOTA KINABALU: The Sawit Kinabalu Group will contribute\u00a0food basket assistance worth RM1 million, that will benefit 10,000 households in 15 districts in Sabah.
\nThe food basket\u00a0aid will be channelled\u00a0to the district offices and disaster operation control centres in Papar,\u00a0Beaufort, Membakut, Kota Kinabalu, Kota Marudu, Pitas, Beluran, Tongod, Kinabatangan, Lahad Datu, Tungku, Kunak, Semporna, Tawau\u00a0and\u00a0Kalabakan, before being\u00a0distributed to the residents involved.
\nSabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor,\u00a0who is also\u00a0Sawit Kinabalu Group chairman, witnessed the symbolic cheque presentation from group managing director\u00a0Bacho Jansie\u00a0to state secretary Datuk Seri Safar Untong, who is also state COVID-19\u00a0Disaster Management Committee chairman, here today.
\nHajiji said he hoped the aid would\u00a0ease\u00a0the\u00a0burden of those affected by\u00a0COVID-19 pandemic.
\nHe added that the state government had also distributed\u00a040,736 food baskets to the\u00a0affected groups through the Sabah Prihatin Aid Programme (BSP) 3.0 starting\u00a0June 19.
\nPreviously, a total of 322,122 food baskets were\u00a0distributed under BSP1.0, and 367,231 under BSP2.0.
