LABUAN: The number\u00a0of people registered for COVID-19 vaccine in Labuan has surged from over 16 per cent in March to 44.1 per cent in April.
\nLabuan\u00a0COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) chairman Rithuan Ismail said the number of vaccinated individuals here, as of Wednesday, stood at 3,762 including 2,340 frontliners who had completed the second dose end of March.
\nHe said since the launched of phase two\u00a0of the\u00a0National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme on Monday, a total of 1, 422 senior citizens aged 60 and above and vulnerable people with morbidity problems have received their first dose.
\n\u201cThis week\u2019s phase two vaccination exercise might not involve\u00a0persons with disabilities (PwD), as we want to complete the senior citizens first before calling for the PwD\u2019s group probably end of this month or early May,\u201d he told\u00a0Bernama here today.
\nRithuan\u00a0said Labuan has opened two vaccination centres at\u00a0Membedai Health Clinic and Labuan Corporation\u00a0Multipurpose Hall for the phase two vaccination exercise.
\nMeanwhile, Labuan Health Department director Dr Ismuni Bohari said\u00a0more than 1,000 teachers have so far registered to get vaccinated.
\nDr Ismuni said the department\u00a0personnel has come up with a vaccination campaign poster\u00a0on methods for the vaccine\u00a0registration, namely\u00a0via MySejahtera, www.vaksincovid.gov.my\u00a0website,\u00a0contact vaccine hotline centre at\u00a01-800-888-28 or COVID-19 operation room at 087-596022\/029.
\nRegistration can also be done through the people\u2019s representative council (MPP) or\u00a0via QR Code at\u00a0http:\/\/apps.jknlabuan.moh.gov.my\/vaksin.
