{"id":3318,"date":"2021-04-16T19:19:00","date_gmt":"2021-04-16T11:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/?p=3318"},"modified":"2021-04-16T19:19:00","modified_gmt":"2021-04-16T11:19:00","slug":"covid-19-labuan-all-set-for-phase-two-vaccination","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/2021\/04\/16\/covid-19-labuan-all-set-for-phase-two-vaccination\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19: Labuan all set for phase two vaccination"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LABUAN: With just three days to go before phase two of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme begins, the Labuan vaccination committee has gone full swing in its preparations for the exercise.<br \/>\nThe\u00a0three vaccination centres for the exercise are all set to receive the\u00a027,000 people targeted to be vaccinated under phase two, which is for people\u00a0aged\u00a060 and\u00a0above, vulnerable groups with comorbidities\u00a0as well as persons with disabilities (PwD).<br \/>\nLabuan COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) chairman Rithuan Ismail said the vaccination centres are Labuan Corporation\u2019s Multipurpose Hall, Membedai Health Clinic and Malaysian Armed Forces Hospital at the Royal Malaysian Air Force base in Membedai.<br \/>\nHe said Labuan Corporation\u2019s Multipurpose Hall is expected to be fully utilised,\u00a0with at least five channels to be opened for the exercise.<br \/>\n\u201cOne channel in the multipurpose hall has the capacity to inoculate 90 individuals per day,\u00a0and we expect 450 people to receive the vaccine every day.<br \/>\n\u201cIf there is an urgent need, we will open five more channels in the hall to expedite the vaccination process, which is to commence simultaneously with the national-level exercise,\u201d he told\u00a0Bernama today.<br \/>\nRithuan said the vaccination exercise in Labuan has been well received.<br \/>\n\u201cWe hope we can expedite the vaccination exercise as currently the number of people registered (via MySejahtera) for vaccination stands\u00a0at 40 per cent of Labuan\u2019s population of\u00a0103,000,\u201d he said.<br \/>\n\u201cOur committee members are working non-stop in their bid to get as many as possible to receive the vaccine through various campaigns,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nRithuan said the vaccination campaign has been expanded to all the five Ramadan bazaar sites and tithe (zakat) collection counters.<br \/>\nHe said five mobile healthcare personnel would soon be going house to house to vaccinate senior citizens and people with disabilities.<br \/>\nLabuan has vaccinated all its 2,340 frontliners as of today, with the remaining second layer to receive the vaccine in stages.<br \/>\nThe Labuan-level National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme was launched on Feb\u00a027, a day after the arrival of 4,680 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at the Labuan Ferry Terminal from Kota Kinabalu.<br \/>\nLabuan Health Department director Dr Ismuni Bohari said Labuan is expected to complete the three-phase vaccination exercise in October, ahead of the\u00a0schedule of February 2022.<br \/>\n&#8212; BERNAMA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LABUAN: With just three days to go before phase two of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme begins, the Labuan vaccination committee has gone full swing in its preparations for the exercise.
