KOTA KINABALU: Dr. Davina Datuk Markus Majihi, Chairperson of the Health Bureau for the Gagasan Rakyat Women’s Movement Exco, has encouraged the public, particularly young women who have yet to donate blood, to “roll up their sleeves” and contribute to a vital cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Sabah blood bank is reportedly experiencing a persistent shortage in its blood supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Davina highlighted the pressing need for new donors to engage in the ‘Lead With Life’ blood and health donation campaign, scheduled to take place on Level 4 of the SICC for two days starting November 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This is a chance for young women and all first-time donors to be part of a significant initiative,” she stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Spending just 30 minutes of your time can profoundly impact someone in need\u2014be it an accident victim, a Thalassaemia patient, a cancer patient, or individuals undergoing surgery who require blood to survive,” she remarked during an interview on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ‘Lead With Life’ program aims to create a welcoming environment, particularly for new donors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This campaign will provide information on the blood donation process, complimentary dental and health check-ups, and a special appreciation area for donors, where they can enjoy light refreshments, receive certificates, and capture commemorative photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the Sabah blood bank facing a critical shortage, Dr. Davina stressed the importance of community support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Every drop of blood can create a lasting impact. I urge the youth of Sabah, especially women, to unite in this life-saving mission,” she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
