KOTA BELUD: Datuk Peter Anthony, the President of the Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM), said that the party is currently experiencing remarkable support, even in regions where KDM does not hold a majority (Kadazan, Dusun, Murut, and Rungus).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that there have been numerous requests for the party to broaden its reach, particularly in predominantly Muslim areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Initially, I announced that KDM would aim to contest over 30 seats, especially in areas where KDM holds a majority. However, given the current circumstances and the influx of requests we have received, it is feasible that the number of seats we contest could rise to 50,” he remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Melalap assemblyman made these comments after officiating the launch of the 17th State Election machinery (PRN17) for the Kadamaian in Kampung Bukid, here recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, Peter expressed his belief that the outcome of his court case on November 27 will not diminish the public’s support for the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He mentioned that he and the KDM leadership are prepared for any eventuality and have contingency plans should the court’s ruling not be in his favour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Regardless of the court’s decision on November 27, I am confident that the support for KDM will not wane but will instead strengthen,” he asserted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We have observed, during our tours to various regions, that the response has been exceedingly positive,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, he is optimistic that the competition for seats among the parties in the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will benefit KDM, which has opted to operate independently in the PRN17.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
