TUARAN: McDonald\u2019s Malaysia marked another significant milestone in its expansion across Sabah with the grand opening of its latest outlet, McDonald\u2019s Tuaran Town Drive-Thru restaurant. The opening ceremony was graced by the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new restaurant underscores McDonald\u2019s Malaysia\u2019s commitment to its vision of opening 36 outlets in Sabah by 2030. To date, McDonald\u2019s operates 22 restaurants across the state, employing a workforce of 800 local staff. Currently, there are 370 McDonald\u2019s restaurants nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, McDonald\u2019s Malaysia also presented a business zakat contribution of RM100,000 for 2024 to the Sabah Islamic Religious Council (MUIS) to support underprivileged communities across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, McDonald\u2019s Malaysia, through its charity of choice, Ronald McDonald House Charities Malaysia (RMHC Malaysia), donated 1,300 Back-to-School Packs to primary school children from underprivileged families in Sabah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since 2017, the Back-to-School Pack initiative has benefitted over 6,000 children in Sabah. The program aims to ease the financial burden of low-income families while motivating students to embark on the new school year with confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, RMHC Malaysia has established its fourth Ronald McDonald House at the Sabah Women and Children\u2019s Hospital (HWKKS), providing accommodation to nearly 100 underprivileged families since its opening last year. This facility is the first of its kind in Sabah and East Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, RMHC Malaysia will be extending a medical grant of RM100,000 to HWKKS to support medical treatments, equipment, and other essential needs for children in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
