KOTA KINABALU: Sitim Bandaron, a seasoned KDM singer, has taken on the role of president for the recently formed Gabungan Artis Seni Tempatan Sabah (GASTS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The aim is to provide assistance and support in safeguarding the welfare and interests of local artists in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Given the challenges faced by artists and entertainers in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, GASTS members have united to persevere in the entertainment industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is particularly crucial in addressing issues concerning artists and singers within the KDM community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Sitim, the newly registered association by the Sabah Registrar of Societies (ROS) aims to unite artists in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, he said it aims to continuously organise vocal workshops and songwriting workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We also aspire to hold music workshops and help discover new talents as well as polish existing talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We also plan to organise traditional music workshops and everything related to the arts,” he said in a statement here today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sitim said the official launch of GASTS is expected to take place in October, in conjunction with the Thanksgiving ceremony for the establishment of the association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said membership in the association is open to those aged 12 and above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
