The proceedings will take place online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The COA&#8217;s decision will represent a pivotal moment in Sabah&#8217;s quest for justice concerning its 40% entitlement to federal revenue. We are cautiously optimistic that the COA will rule in favour of SLS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, should the decision not be in our favour, it will mark a significant turning point in Sabah&#8217;s ongoing struggle to obtain what is rightfully ours as outlined in the Malaysia Agreement of 1963 and the Federal Constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SLS filed the judicial review application in 2022 to overturn the gazetting by the federal government of the RM125.6 million annual grant for Sabah, claiming that it violated the state&#8217;s revenue rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Datuk James Ligunjang KOTA KINABALU: The Court of Appeal is set to deliver its judgement on June 18, 2024, regarding SLS&#8217;s application for a judicial review, which was opposed by the Federal Attorney General&#8217;s Chambers.
