SANDAKAN: The Sabah Wushu team finished eleventh with a tally of three medals in the just concluded 13th National Youth Wushu KPM-Himalaya Sports Tournament held in Negeri Sembilan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fifteen teams competed in the five-day tournament that was graced by the Yang Di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus. Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sabah Wushu Association president Dato’ Chin Kim Hiung, who also accompanied the 22-member Sabah team together with five coaches to the tournament, said he was proud of the Sabah exponents’ performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chin, who is also the Wushu Federation of Malaysia deputy president, thanked Sabah Wushu Association secretary and team manager Lee Hon Yu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also congratulated the organizers, Persekutuan Wushu, Tarian Singa, and Naga Negeri Sembilan, for successfully hosting the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Chin, the Sabah medalists were Jesselton Hailey Hilary (silver) in the male’s 17-year-old 48 kg category, Dexter Tan Khai Qi (gold) in the male’s 14-year-old 48 kg category, and Avey Avylla Laban (bronze) in the female’s Qiangshu Group A category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Melaka Wushu team finished at the at the top of the table with a total medal haul of 29: gold (29), silver (14), bronze (11) and bronze-4th place (7), with Kuala Lumpur in second place with gold (13), silver (9), bronze (7), and bronze-4th place (7), followed by Johor Gold (8), silver (9), bronze (9) and bronze-4th place (5).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
