KOTA KINABALU: Malaysia’s top men’s doubles duo, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, successfully reached the final of the All England Badminton Championships, replicating their achievement from 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the semi-final clash at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham this morning, the former world champions defeated the Taiwanese pair of Lee Jhe Huei and Yang Po Hsuan with a score of 21-16, 21-15 in just 36 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Notably, Aaron and Wooi Yik maintained a flawless record by not dropping a single set throughout the entire Super 1000 World Tour, winning all their matches in straight sets since the initial round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite securing their spot in the final, Aaron stressed that their mission is far from over as they are set to face a crucial showdown against Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto from Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“After five years, we have once again reached the All England final. I am delighted with our performance today, but we must stay focused as there is one more match ahead of us. We will rest well and give our best in the final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Today, we concentrated on our game and fulfilled our roles,” he conveyed to BWF post-match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This marks the second All England final for the world No.5 pair, with their previous appearance in 2019 where they finished as runners-up to the renowned Indonesian duo of Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
