{"id":26630,"date":"2024-02-26T17:34:32","date_gmt":"2024-02-26T09:34:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/?p=26630"},"modified":"2024-02-26T17:34:33","modified_gmt":"2024-02-26T09:34:33","slug":"macc-apprehends-a-man-for-duping-a-contractor-into-giving-bribes-to-secure-a-non-existent-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/2024\/02\/26\/macc-apprehends-a-man-for-duping-a-contractor-into-giving-bribes-to-secure-a-non-existent-project\/","title":{"rendered":"MACC apprehends a man for duping a contractor into giving bribes to secure a non-existent project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Sabah has arrested a man suspected of deceiving a contractor into giving a bribe of approximately RM150,000 in exchange for a non-existent repair project at a school in Beluran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to sources, the suspect, who is in his 60s and self-employed, requested and received the bribe, claiming that it would help the contractor secure the project worth around RM1.5 million, even though the project does not exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The incident took place around 2019, when the suspect promised to assist the victim in obtaining the said project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The suspect was arrested at the MACC Sabah office at around 10:30 a.m. this morning to provide a statement,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the Director of MACC Sabah, Datuk S.
