KOTA KINABALU: We should strongly condemn the recent statement made by a coalition of Muslim non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Selangor and Negri Sembilan, calling for the establishment of a Malay Muslim government without other parties that represents other races.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This statement is not only divisive but also goes against the principles of equality, multiculturalism, and democracy enshrined in the Federal Constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The call to exclude a political party based on race and religion is discriminatory and undermines the spirit of unity and harmony that Malaysia aspires to achieve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is essential to recognize that the Parliament should represent all Malaysians, regardless of their race or religion, and not be limited to any particular group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We urge the relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate this statement by the Muslim NGOs for any potential seditious and treasonous elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Such remarks that defy the concept of Malaysia as stipulated in the MA63 and Federal Constitution should not be taken lightly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Muslim NGO’s should emphasize the importance of prioritizing economic development for the betterment of all citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When politics overshadow the economy, it is the ordinary people who suffer the most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Any attempt to undermine the principles and values that Malaysia stands for should be condemned and thoroughly investigated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We believe in a Malaysia that upholds the rights and freedoms of all its citizens, regardless of their race, religion, or political affiliation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
