{"id":2127,"date":"2021-03-04T14:43:04","date_gmt":"2021-03-04T06:43:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/?p=2127"},"modified":"2021-03-04T15:05:41","modified_gmt":"2021-03-04T07:05:41","slug":"sabah-youth-council-to-promote-social-entrepreneurship-via-synergy-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/2021\/03\/04\/sabah-youth-council-to-promote-social-entrepreneurship-via-synergy-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"Sabah Youth Council to promote social entrepreneurship via Synergy programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Youth Council has launched a Sabah Youth in Social Entrepreneurship (Synergy) programme\u00a0aimed to give a positive impact on youth economic and local community development via\u00a0social entrepreneurship (SE).<\/p>\n<p>The programme, which was launched yesterday, will open its application to all youths up until March 21.<br \/>\nSabah Youth Council president\u00a0Ahmad Farid Sainuri said there were over 2,000 registered young entrepreneurs in Sabah, most of whom venturing into small-scale food production and services\u00a0and have made their name and businesses well known in Malaysia, such as BorneoCocoa, EZPlast, Kundasang Aquafarm and Mount Kinabalu Coffee.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSE is an approach by start-up companies or entrepreneurs and it is new\u00a0among Sabahan youths, hence,\u00a0we have\u00a0organised this programme as an effort to promote the youth to be involved in both economic activities that impact the community and environment positively,\u201d he said in a statement here today.<\/p>\n<p>The Synergy programme is supported by the Sabah Sports and Youth Ministry, with its unit Sabah Creative Economy and Innovation Centre (SCEIC) and the Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC) Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, SCEIC general manager Viviantie Sarjuni in the same statement said\u00a0that with collective efforts by all stakeholders, the concept of SE would be adapted by many more entrepreneurs in the state.<\/p>\n<p>We need to strengthen the business model even more\u00a0by learning further about SE such as the type of many social enterprises business models, impact measurement, sustainability and others\u00a0that are related.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEspecially during a pandemic, such business models will be able to aid\u00a0the economy\u00a0by bridging the gaps between different social income.
