{"id":19281,"date":"2023-03-21T21:04:49","date_gmt":"2023-03-21T13:04:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/?p=19281"},"modified":"2023-03-21T21:04:49","modified_gmt":"2023-03-21T13:04:49","slug":"desa-land-emerges-as-labuans-top-tourist-attraction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/2023\/03\/21\/desa-land-emerges-as-labuans-top-tourist-attraction\/","title":{"rendered":"Desa Land Emerges as Labuan\u2019s top tourist attraction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LABUAN: Eco-tourism destination Desa Land has emerged as Labuan\u2019s top tourist attraction, recording more than 100,000 visitors since it began operations in 2021.<br \/>\nThe\u00a0Tourism Promotion Board\u2019s Labuan Tourist Information Centre (LTIC) manager Nor Hidayah Mohd Noor said this\u00a0positive development augurs well for\u00a0Labuan\u2019s tourism sector.<br \/>\n\u201cDesa Land promotes nature-based activities which have been a hit with\u00a0visitors.<br \/>\nThis\u00a0ecotourism attraction in Labuan can be considered as a crowd puller, and we share in their achievement,\u201d she told\u00a0Bernama today.<br \/>\nNor Hidayah said LTIC had been promoting the island\u2019s tourist\u00a0attractions on\u00a0various platforms, and it acknowledged the hard work put in by the Desa Land\u00a0operator to make it a top attraction.<br \/>\nLabuan Corporation (LC) chief executive officer Rithuan Ismail said Desa Land\u2019s achievement was a testament to the robustness of Labuan\u2019s tourism industry.<br \/>\n\u201cDesa Land is an amazing model to revive the tourism-based economy. The number of visitors recorded since 2021 is\u00a0impressive.<br \/>\n\u201cLabuan Corporation will continue to assist\u00a0tourism operators on\u00a0this island to innovate tourism products to make\u00a0Labuan a popular tourism destination,\u201d he said.\u00a0<br \/>\nDesa Land founder Datuk Seri Mohd Alias Abd Rahman said the number of people visiting the site had increased after the\u00a0COVID-19 pandemic.<br \/>\n\u201cWe must be thankful for\u00a0the continuous support from LC, the\u00a0Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture,\u00a0and the people for making Desa Land a must-visit destination,\u201d he said.<br \/>\n\u201cFor instance, the number of visitors enjoying our train and dinosaur and replica garden exploration alone over the last six months is\u00a0more than 25, 000,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nDesa Land, which was\u00a0built on a six-acre piece of land at Jalan Sg Pagar, Kampung Sg Miri, offers activities like\u00a0a quad bike all-terrain vehicle (ATV) tour, boat paddling at a\u00a0natural pond and camping trips.<br \/>\nDesa Land has 35 units of tree house, pine cabin, log cabin, chalet\u00a0and dome accommodation.<br \/>\n\u201cWe are increasing activities\u00a0in Desa Land to tailor them\u00a0to current and future trends, like canopy walks, ghost tunnel and rock climbing.
