{"id":18889,"date":"2023-03-04T16:30:18","date_gmt":"2023-03-04T08:30:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/?p=18889"},"modified":"2023-03-04T16:30:18","modified_gmt":"2023-03-04T08:30:18","slug":"govt-allocates-rm50-mln-for-franchise-entrepreneurs-this-year-ewon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/2023\/03\/04\/govt-allocates-rm50-mln-for-franchise-entrepreneurs-this-year-ewon\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt allocates RM50 mln for franchise entrepreneurs this year &#8211; Ewon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SHAH ALAM: The Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (Kuskop) through\u00a0Perbadanan Nasional Bhd\u00a0(Pernas) has allocated RM50 million this year to provide financing to assist franchise entrepreneurs, said its Minister,\u00a0Datuk Ewon Benedick.<br \/>\nHe said the allocation covers Franchise\/Franchisor Financing Scheme;\u00a0Pre-Franchise\/Pre-Franchisor Financing Scheme; Pre-Franchise (Licensor\/Licensee)\u00a0Financing Scheme;\u00a0BIT Pre-Franchisor\/Pre-Franchisee Financing Scheme; and Recurve Scheme.<br \/>\n\u201cUp to Dec 31, 2022, a total of RM299 million franchise financing was provided to 1,859 franchise entrepreneurs through various financing\u00a0schemes.<br \/>\n\u201cAs an agency under Kuskop,\u00a0Pernas has a\u00a0role in the development of franchise entrepreneurs. It also provides various assistance and support to the entrepreneurs including financing facilities, training and opening up opportunities to micro, small and\u00a0medium enterprise (MSME)\u00a0entrepreneurs to explore the franchising field,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nHe said this in his address when officiating the Business in Transformation Expo 2023 (BITe) at the Setia City Convention Centre,\u00a0Setia Alam, here today. Also present were Kuskop Deputy Minister K. Saraswathy, Kuskop secretary-general Datuk Seri Suriani Ahmad and Pernas chairman Datuk Hazimah Zainuddin.<br \/>\nEwon said the organisation of the two-day BITe 2023 starting today would be able to encourage the participation of new entrepreneurs and also enable\u00a0micro and small entrepreneurs to introduce their business model and\u00a0expand their brands further.<br \/>\nThe BIT programme would also able to assist the micro and small entrepreneurs to carry out their business more competitively and efficiently, he said.<br \/>\nHe said\u00a0Pernas had\u00a0approved financing totalling RM9.9 million to 313 BIT entrepreneurs as at Dec 31, 2022.<br \/>\n&#8220;The BIT Pre-Franchisee Financing package has been improved with financing\u00a0facility of up to\u00a0RM50,000 to provide opportunity for\u00a0potential entrepreneurs to have better business concept.
