\nHe said the country\u2019s major festivities were opportunities to sow the spirit of unity and to forge friendships.\u00a0
\nAnwar said harmony\u00a0and tolerance between the races formed\u00a0the bond that propels the country forward.\u00a0
\n\u201cOn behalf of Malaysians of various races,\u00a0I would like to wish the entire Chinese community a Happy Chinese New Year 2023,\u201d he said in his message on Facebook tonight.\u00a0
\nAnwar also uploaded a video depicting the story of a rabbit named Miki which\u00a0bravely continues its journey despite facing obstacles along the way in the hope of\u00a0a promising future.\u00a0
\nThe 1.14-minute long video also sends a message to all those\u00a0who have endured various challenges and tribulations\u00a0over the years and who are looking for a ray of hope to not give up, but instead rise in the spirit of unity.
\nIn the clip, the prime minister\u00a0is seen\u00a0holding the rabbit while saying: \u201cAs an independent country that has since grown and matured,\u00a0it is right that we empower all the people, all races in our beloved country of Malaysia.\u201d
\nThe Malaysian Chinese community will be celebrating the Lunar New Year on Jan 22 and 23.\u00a0
\nIn the Chinese calendar,\u00a0there are 12 animals representing the zodiac for each year.
