KUALA LUMPUR: \u00a0Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin today received his instrument of appointment\u00a0to continue his service for\u00a0another two years from\u00a0Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri\u2019ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at Istana Negara here.
\nThis will be Juhar\u2019s fourth term as the Sabah Governor\u00a0from Jan 1,\u00a02023 to Dec 31,\u00a02024.
\nThe ceremony was held at the\u00a0Small Throne\u00a0Room, Istana Negara\u00a0and was attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi
\nAlso present were Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri\u00a0Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani and Dewan Negara president Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim.
\nThe reappointment of Juhar, 69, saw\u00a0him hold the position for more than 10 years after being appointed as the 10th Sabah Governor on Jan 1, 2011.<\/p>\n
In December 2018, the Sabah\u00a0Legislative Assembly passed an amendment\u00a0to the state\u00a0Constitution to remove the two-term limit for Sabah Governor.
\nJuhar, who holds a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Law from\u00a0Wolverhampton Polytechnic, England, was appointed the Sabah state assembly speaker from 2002 to 2010 and Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker from 1990 to 1999.
